Abstract
This study aims to explore the students' perspectives on the use of Indonesian and English instructions in a Biology class. By examining the students' experiences with bilingual Biology instruction, the research seeks to identify the differences in language preferences, teaching approaches, and learning outcomes. The instrument used to collect qualitative data is interviews. Five participants were interviewed, sharing their insights on the use of both languages in Biology education. The findings highlight the significance of language comfort, affective factors, and linguistic identity in shaping language choices. The study also emphasizes the potential impact of language on content depth, critical thinking skills, and cognitive development. Understanding the students' perspectives is essential for devising effective language integration strategies in Biology education. Based on the interview, it was found that this research highlights the importance of thoughtful language strategies to meet individual language needs. So, it can be concluded that the learning strategy of Students' Perspectives on the Teachers' Instructions Using Both English and Indonesian in a Biology Class can optimize learning outcomes in Biology education using both languages.
